The reward money for information in the shooting of a Monroe County deputy has increased to $11,000.
Narcotics officer Eric Sloan made a traffic stop on a motorcyclist last Monday on Highway 45 Alternate just south of the Highway 41 exit near Okolona.
The rider on the motorcycle fired several shots at Sloan, one of which struck his bulletproof vest, and then sped away from the scene.
Sloan was treated and released from a Tupelo hospital. He has not returned to work yet.
Anyone with information in the shooting is asked to contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department at (662) 369-2468.
