A Columbus man was taken into custody Aug. 13 after a domestic violence incident turned into a standoff with the Columbus Police Department’s SWAT team.
About 2 p.m. last Thursday a CPD officer was dispatched to 373 Plymouth Road after a 911 call claimed Michael Taylor had brandished a shotgun and threatened to shoot his wife during a domestic dispute. The wife fled to a neighbor’s house, where she made the 911 call. The wife told police that Taylor had been consuming Xanax and whiskey.
After a standoff lasting about two hours, Taylor was taken into custody peacefully.0
