A woman is in the critical care unit of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle after she was the victim of a stabbing on Columbus’ Southside.
According to the Columbus Police Department, officers responded to a call at approximately 1:15 a.m. Tuesday in regards to a disturbance.
Once on scene at 2415 3rd Ave. S., officers found a 43-year-old female bleeding from her head. The woman said she was the victim of a stabbing and she had multiple injuries to her body, including lacerations on her head, arm, neck, chest and back. The stabbing victim was able to identify a person of interest.
The person of interest was later identified as Fayette Lorae Dozier, 43, of Columbus. Dozier was arrested at her residence and charged with aggravated assault.
On Tuesday afternoon, Dozier appeared in front of City of Columbus Judge Marc Amos. Amos set her bond at $50,000. She is currently being housed in the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
The stabbing happened almost one year to the date of a fatal stabbing at Cypress Park in East Columbus.
Chaddy Mae Brooks, 28, was arrested for the Nov. 22, 2013 murder of Danielle Gore, who was killed inside Brook’s apartment at 300 South Lehmberg Road (Cypress Park Apartments #152). Brooks told an emergency operator that Gore had been stabbed. Deputies arrived on the scene followed by emergency personnel from Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, but Gore had expired before he could receive medical attention.0
