What started as a little drinking, dope smoking and driving ended in the arrest of three juveniles Friday night.
An E-911 call came out just before 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21 regarding a suspicious vehicle near Calvary Baptist Church in New Hope. Deputies with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office spotted a black Honda on Dowdle Drive and got behind the vehicle. The deputies attempted to stop the Honda but the driver would not stop.
A chase started that went from Dowdle Drive to New Hope Road, with speeds of greater than 70 mph. The chase then moved on to Phillip Hill Road before moving on to Lee-Stokes Road.
Spikes were deployed
at the intersection of LeeStokes Road and Tabernacle Road. The Honda went through the spikes, as did two LCSO vehicles.
The chase continued for a bit before the Honda finally came to a stop on Pleasant Hill Road near Doyle Estates.
The occupants of the vehicle could not give a reason for running from the deputies. One of the passengers said he was having an anxiety attack during the chase and he contemplated leaving the vehicle mid-chase.
All three juveniles were charged with fleeing or eluding in a motor vehicle, possession of beer or wine by a minor, public drunkenness, possession of marijuana and possession of tobacco by aminor.
The names of the arrested were not released by the LCSO.0
