The mother-and-son Packeteer team of Debbie Milliern and Big Mike helped bring a shoplifter to justice on the evening of Wednesday, July 23.
According to Milliern, the dynamic duo were in Sprint Mart #4103 (formerly Tina Watkins) on Highway 45 North when a man reached into the cooler and made off with two 40 oz. Budweiser beers by placing them in his pants. The man, later identified as Leofio Remeco Williams, left the store and headed down Eighth Avenue with the terror twins in hot pursuit after they called E-911.
Lt. Donnie Elkin attempted to stop Williams by flashing the blue lights of his police cruiser. Williams attempted to flee on foot and Elkin chased him briefly. Williams was eventually tazed before being brought back to Elkin’s car.
Williams, 38, of 814 13th St. N., was arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with shoplifting less than $250, failure to obey a police officer and public drunkenness. His bond was set at $1,399.
