Popular Club Heidiho DJ Billy Kennedy Jr. was arrested Monday night and was not very cooperative with Columbus Police officers regarding his impending detainment.
Shortly after 10 p.m. Monday, officers responded to shots fired in the Holly Hills area.
An unidentified female reportedly called 911 and said someone had fired shots into her car and she was following the suspect down Highway 45 North.
Kennedy, who originally told police his name was Eddie Baldwin Jr., pulled his vehicle over in front of Goose Hollow Furniture after being blue-lighted by CPD.
Kennedy may have been angered by the pullover location as he would not officers search his vehicle. Things went from bad to worse for the ornery Kennedy as he decided to kick out the back driver’s side window of the police cruiser, one of the older models still in circulation.
Officers Amanda Burrell and Josh Vandiver immediately jumped into action as Burrell subdued the suspect while Vandiver applied leg shackles. Kennedy reportedly did not like the behavior of the officers and witnesses on scene said he used foul language including the “f” word.
Kennedy, 29. of 625 Military Road, was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon.
It is unknown if he will be spinning the hits this weekend at the Club Heidiho.
The female caller, believed to have been Kennedy’s girlfriend, was not injured in the incident.
She was traveling in a car driven by her sister.[wzslider autoplay=”true” lightbox=”true”] 0
