The Artesia Day Festival is upon us, as it kicks off today and lasts through Sunday. Tonight there’s a citizens appreciation program and then things get kicking at the Master Host Inn with DJ Love Bone. Don’t miss headliners Vick Allen and Sheba Pott Wright on Saturday night.

The Life of JJ Cale
The legendary singer/songwriter died last week at the age of 74. If you think you haven’t heard of Cale, you have definitely heard his music. He wrote some of Eric Clapton’s biggest hits including “Cocaine” and “After Midnight.” He also wrote a little number for Lynyrd Skynyrd called “The Breeze.”
