Special To The Packet
The Bryan family, of New Hope, spent some time at Turner Field in Atlanta last week and found time to take in a baseball game with their favorite team- the Atlanta Braves. This was the first Major League game for the children — Ethan, Dylan and Anna Cate.
The children received first time game certificates, practice balls hit by Jason Heyward, Evan Gattis, and Dan Uggla. They had balls thrown to them from the bullpen from Eddie Perez , as well as autographs from David Carpenter, Mike Minor, Todd Cunningham and Brian McCann. The Bryan’s met Brian McCann’s father, Howie and they saw Brian Jordan (a previous Braves outfielder, now game analyst with Jerome Jurenovich) and they got to watch them practice and work out before the game. They also saw Mike Minor warm up in the bullpen.
While at the game, the Braves had 15 hits and a McCann home run in a big win against the Colorado Rockies. The family also got to see the team leave in the parking lot after the game. The children were very impressed with the trip.
Parents Ashlee and Ivan Bryan then took the family to Sarasota, Fla., for a few days to relax. Ashlee works as an office manager for an appraisal company in Columbus, and husband Ivan Bryan is a Deputy with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department.
