A body found in the Bartahatchie-area of Monroe County Wednesday evening has been identified as that of a missing Monroe County man. According to an eyewitness, a white Ford Ranger truck was spotted under a bridge near the swimming area of the Buttahatchie River. The body inside the truck was identified as Harold Wright, 69, who has been missing since April 10.
Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley has not released any information to The Packet regarding the cause of death. Calls to Gurley were not returned Wednesday night.
Wright was last seen at his home in the Lackey Community near Aberdeen on April 10. Wright allegedly left his home in a white 1994 Ford Ranger.
Members of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office have been working the case since Wright was reported missing.
