Taylor’s vehicle was spotted at Mike’s Bar on Alabama St. by CPD officers that were on an unrelated call nearby. After confirming his outstanding warrant for Embezzlement, the officers, along with off-duty Brooksville Chief of Police Reginald Adams, subdued Taylor. (The fugitive did try to make an escape through the back door of the bar.) Taylor reportedly told his captors that he didn’t turn himself in because, “It’s my birthday.”
CPD Officer Bo Pearson then transported Taylor to the intersection of Hwys 82 and 45 S to relinquish him to the custody of Brooksville PD officers.
Taylor worked for the Brooksville Police Department from August 2010 to August 2012, when he was terminated for Lack of Performance. The Embezzlement charged stemmed from Taylor’s failure to return $1000 worth of equipment, including uniforms, a flashlight and a brand new bullet-proof vest, when he was fired from his job.0
