A Columbus Air Force Base Airman was killed in a motorcycle accident Friday night in West Point.
Senior Airman Geoffry Cullen, Jr., died Friday night from injuries sustained when his motorcycle ran off the road.
After the accident Cullen reportedly called a freind for help. The unidentified friend then called E-911 and told dispatchers Cullen was “barely breathing.”
Lowndes County deputies were dispatched until it was determined that the accident happened in Clay County.
Clay County emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, but Cullen succumbed to his injuries.
Cullen was serving his first assignment in the military as a firefighter with the 14th Civil Engineering Squadron. A memorial service for the fallen firefighter was held Tuesday afternoon at the base chapel.
The accident is still currently under investigation.0
