CPD Reserve Officer Eric Lewis has been cleared of a Dec. 19 embezzlement charge.
Lewis, not to be confused with the full-time CPD Officer with the same name, was working as an employee at Lowe’s when he was arrested and charged with embezzlement. He was accused of allowing 34-year-old Seneca Harbin of Kilmichael to charge more than $8,000 to another person’s account. He was released from his position at Lowe’s and the CPD as a result.
Chief of Police Selvain McQueen said Lewis has since been cleared of the embezzlement charge and is back at work with the CPD.
Lewis said of the incident, “I’m back at work with no prejudice and all charges have been dropped. I’m just glad to be back. I’m just glad I’m cleared.”0
