Obituary for Margie Diane Slay

Margie Diane Slay, 57 of Steens, MS passed away, Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.
Visitation for Mrs. Slay will be Friday, April 27, 2012 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ricky James officiating, John Barham and John Johnson assisting. Interment will be in Furnace Hill Cemetery, Vernon, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Slay was born February 20, 1955 to the late Lawrence and Maxine Walker Barham in Columbus, MS, she lived in Lowndes County her entire life. She attended First Pentecostal Church, Columbus, MS, enjoyed gardening, fishing, singing and playing guitar. Mrs. Slay recently worked as a home sitter. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Slay is preceded in death by her brothers – Charles Barham and William Barham.
Mrs. Slay is survived by her husband – Blake Slay, Steens, MS, sisters – Betty (James) Godfrey, Columbus, MS, Cynthia (Skip) McLaughlin, Columbus, MS, Brenda (Steve) Rae, Ethelsville, AL, Patia (Ricky) James, Florence, MS, Mary (Andy) Foster, El Paso, TX and Kay (Vern) Condra, Lytle, TX, brother – John (Becky) Barham, Ethelsville, AL ad a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Rick James, Jr., John Johnson, Rodney Godfrey, J.J. Johnson, Skip McLaughlin and Vern Condra. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rev. Kenneth Patten, Rev. Cody Cooley, Doctors and Nurses of Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.
