go ahead and swim in the rivers, years ago when i lived on the Tombigbee i saw a 5 foot gator!

Not even cute. Baby gators come from Mama gators.
They are VERY common, a baby gator swam up to our boat. A 14 footer followed fisherman home in Point Harbor . We need a ” gator season” !

we counted over a hundred last weekend in Tibbee Creek..near the Lock and dam… I plan to stay out of the rivers..and creeks when it comes to swimming & skiing
