Out for a Relaxing Stroll…

Just after 8:00 pm last Thursday night, CPD Officer John Rice was patrolling on Northside when he encountered Kenneth McCoy. McCoy was walking West on 7th Ave between 20th and 21st Street North. In his hand was a bottle of alcohol, which he dropped when he saw the patrol car. Rice instructed McCoy to come back and talk to him. McCoy started running from Rice while trying to pull something out of his pocket. He turned online casino North on 19th Street, tossing something on the ground as he rounded the corner. Rice chased McCoy down, and quickly had the runner in custody.

Additional officers arrived on scene and started searching the intersection for the items McCoy discarded. They found a baggie of marijuana on the ground and upon searching McCoy, Rice found a large bud in the man”s pocket. McCoy made an attempt to lose any further evidence by shaking his pockets out, but officers found a blue plastic cap as well.
The marijuana totaled out at around 17 grams. Returning to Rice”s car, which was parked at the initial point where Rice saw McCoy, Officer Stephen Kemp found a nearly-empty bottle of Taaka vodka that was missing its cap.
Kenneth McCoy was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Disobeying a Police Officer.
