The Clay County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate a house burglary that occurred on November 4, 2011 on Hwy 50 West in the Cedar Bluff Community. Chief Deputy Eddie Scott stated that 4 individuals have been charged in connection with the break-in.
Dalton Pinkston, age 18, is charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling and currently incarcerated at the Clay County Jail under a $50,000.00 bond. 2 Juveniles have been charged and turned over to the Clay County Youth Court. 1 suspect remains at large.
Scott stated that during the course of the investigation a purse containing $160.00 in cash and various prescription medications were recovered from the burglary. In addition the investigators recovered a firearm that was reported stolen from the Horn Lake area. Investigators in conjunction with the Starkville Police Department, Oktibbeha County Sheriff Department and Horn Lake Police Department recovered a total of twenty-six stolen weapons that were hidden in Oktibbeha County.
Scott stated that the investigation is ongoing with additional charges expected to be filed by the Horn Lake Police Department.
