About 11:30 Saturday night, Lowndes E-911 received a distressed call from 1418 3rd Ave N reporting a fight and requesting an ambulance. Officer Fred Grammer arrived to find Meco Nelson standing on her porch, covered in blood. She said that Rosie Jones pushed her into the front door of the house, breaking the glass and cutting Nelson’s arm in several places. She went on to say that Jones dragged her into the street and beat her before ripping the spoiler off of Nelson’s 2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Grammer found Jones inside the house, yelling at Nelson, and placed her under arrest before calling the ambulance, which had pre-staged down the street, to come to the residence to see to Nelson’s injuries.
Nelson was cleaned up and and taken to the hospital for further treatment. Rosie Jones was taken to LCADC. At the jail, she requested medical attention for several scratches on her neck. Once the ambulance arrived, Jones demanded to go to the hospital for “a shot” (presumably a tetanus shot or the like). She was taken to BMH-GT with Grammer close behind. After being cleared by a doctor, Jones was taken bake to lock up and charged with Aggravated Assault/Domestic Violence.0
