Lowndes County Sheriffs responded to a domestic dispute at the William Roberts Terrace Apts. Around 10:20pm Sunday night. Ricardo Anterrius Mosley had been in a verbal altercation with his baby’s momma inside of her apartment. Lowndes County Lt. Clint Sims and Columbus Police officer Greg Harstad arrived on scene and began to question Mosley and the complainant [Harstad was called in to assist because most of the deputies had been called to an unrelated incident involving a gun on Hwy 12 near the Alabama line. That incident ended up being resolved without any problems or arrests-CK]
Deputy Travis Roberston arrived on scene as Lt. Sims began to run a background check on Mosley. E-911 dispatch informed the officers that Mosley was wanted on an outstanding warrant and they began to place him in hand cuffs. Although Mosley had been rather calm up to that point, he began to puch back against Dty. Robertson as he applied the cuffs and instructed him to put his hand on the trunk of a nearby car.
“What the f**k you think you’re doin??? I ain’t got a fu**#g warrant” shouted Mosely as he attempted to lift his arms in defiance.
Mosley tried to walk backwards and squirmed in an attempt top get Robertson off of him. Lt. Sims grabbed his left arm and pushed him back against the trunk of the car. Mosley elbowed both Robertson and Sims as he fought to keep the cuffs off of him. He momentarily broke free from the officers, but was taken to the ground three steps into his flight.
“Takes three of ya’ll ? Huh? ” Mosley yelled.
LT. Sims knelt on Mosley’s back while Robertson and Harstad held his arms in place and instructed him to calm down. Mosley was brought back to the upright position and cuffed as he was walked to the waiting Sheriff’s car. He tried to kick several more times and was again placed face-down on the hood of the cruiser.
As Mosley was escorted around the rear of the cruiser he continued to fight back, and lunged across the trunk and shared his feelings with the Packet reporter:”F**k all of ya’ll. You too, keep taking pictures ya muth**##er. All of ya’ll. Ya’ll lucky I’m cuffed. Bi**-A** muther**##ers.”
Mosley was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest . Mosley was released from prison earlier this year after serving one year for shooting into a dwelling and escape. He was wanted on an outstanding warrant for Domestic Violence. Mosley was released on bond and will have a court hearing in June.0
