Dear President Sanders:
On Monday, March 21, 2011, Investigator Eli Perrigin, Coroner Greg Merchant, and I worked an ongoing case for the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office. As a matter of fact, it is a Cold Case, which dates back over a decade. This case was unusual and convoluted for a number of reasons. However, the case was completed today and I think and I think the success was due in large part to the facility we used for processing the evidence.Specifically, I am referring to the Coroner’s facility — wow! We were able to pull our vehicles into the facility and process the specimens in a very efficient, non-intrusive and comfortable manner. I have never been in a setting quite like this one (and I’ve been in a lot). It offers so much and has so much to offer. The vision that the County has for this facility is top notch and cutting edge for processing speciments, whether it be “the deceased” or otherwise. The long and short of this letter is to give kudos to what have going on in the Coroner’s office. If there is anything else that I can do to help the County with Forensic cases, we’re here.
Sincerely,Bo Scales, PhDDirector, Scales Biological Lab
