The Judge Clinkscales Audio Tape

This recording contains the first two minutes of the tape Officer Lance Luckey made as he arrived on scene.  This is the section of the tape that has Nicole Clinkscales being arrested for disobeying a police officer. It is important to note that she was NOT arrested or charged for disciplining her child, only for disobeying a police officer. We will post more of the recording later this evening, although to the best of our knowledge, Ms. Clinksclaes does not speak again on tape.

She should have the book thrown at her. Just because she is a judge does not give her the right to act this way. If a cop tells you to do something, agree or not, you have to comply. Let the courts decide if the cops conduct is correct. The parking lot, street or roadside is not the place to settle your case. Now spanking your kid is not breaking the law. Kids today need it like we had our butt whipped when we were kids. I learned my boundaries and live by them today. Those who didn’t have their butts whipped can be seen in the packets “Mug Shot” section each week.

You say we can do much better?!?!?!? Everybody deserves a second chance- so does she! God forgives us over and over again. Why can’t we forgive? God is the greatest leader to ever walk this earth. It’s time we pattern ourselves and our lives after Him.

      Again, In God We Trust.

      • I agree, BeBe…a good start would be an apology from her to this police officer. She absolutely deserves another chance, as you say. But she can start by making it right with him!

A trial? Your conscience will convict you in the absence of the law. Pray for all concerned and keep lifting them up in prayer.

  2. She went to court, Zainab, 20 months after she was initially charged. She pled ‘no contest’ after discovering the police had a recording of the incident. She was fined $100 for disobeying a police officer.

And what business does she have listening to cases of his. Sounds like a breech of ethics…..

    • As you probably know by now…the Dispatch had a front page article on this Thursday. They buried in the article this very fact. She’s heard nearly 3 to 4 times as many of the officer’s cases as has Amos, the other municipal judge. Those who can’t see the problem with this…are purposely being blind!

baaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa she did not even get a slap on the wrist. good job officer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. I did NOT hear the officer tell her to “Shut Up” like she told the Dispatch, and they printed it. She was showing her tail the whole time of the incident and has continued to do so since, by throwing his cases out of court. This woman needs to go. She should have never been appointed to begin with.

  6. He told me prior to Clinkscales hearing that he didn’t tell her to shut up. She flat out told a lie about that! Of course, she’ll say her statement to the Dispatch was “he said something like ‘shut up and get in the car'” and claim the “something like” would eliminate her from outright lying. RW

AHA! Just as I suspected. All that mouth…. Awesome how she tried to put this off on whipping the child, reaching for straws. Columbus deserves better, and she should be leading by example. I do not think this is worthy of her losing her job, but I think she should apologize to the public for her unethical and unprofessional behavior. This officer did his job – plain and simple.

    • Right…I never suggested, either, that she lose her job. And this is not an ‘attack’ as some have suggested. Clinkscales brought this all on herself…no one has to attack her. Other than her terrible conduct on this matter and going-along with a cover-up of it…she seems to be a nice lady with real potential to make a difference. It’ll be up to her to take this (deserved) crticism and turn it into a good thing. She should step up with an apology to the officer…absolutely!

      Ty,

What is that suppose to mean? Please clarify your statement and identify your sources. Demographic data can have and focus on several components (e.g. income, education level, gender, age, race, martial status).

As a community and constituents we have a civic duty to hold all elected officials accountable for their actions or non- actions. However, in doing this, we definitely have to be mindful of the actual facts, be willing to clearly articulate our position, and take responsibility for our comments and actions. We cannot afford to make reckless statements.

    Ron,

I hope you are preparing an article in response to last Thursday’s article in the “Commerial Dis’grace'”. I think you might have a different view for the people than ole Ryan Poe had. All I’m gonna say is that someone didn’t do their research very well on that article. It just never ceases to amaze me how the one in the wrong always comes out in the end smelling like a rose and the ones that get out there in the streets day in and day out and bust their rumps to keeps the streets safe get a bad wrap! This is about as backwards as anything can get! I will be waiting on your more accurate article on this “bias” situation, Mr. Williams. The GOOD people of Lowndes County want to know what is really going on in the court system.

ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS HAD SHE BEEN WHITE SHE WOULD NOT HAVE EVEN BEEN IN COURT, WRONG IS WRONG REGARDLESS OF THE COLOR OF ONE’S SKIN IF THE LAW WAS TO TREAT EVERYONE THE SAME INSTEAD SPECIAL TREATMENT FOR CERTAIN RACES THEN I DO NOT THINK THIS JUDGE WOULD HAVE HAD A PROBLEM. THE OFFICER SEEM TO ENJOY THAT HE SPOKE TO A JUDE THAT WAY AND THE FACT THAT SHE WAS A BLACK JUDGE MADE HIM FEEL GOOD. WE MAY NOT LIKE IT BUT NOT A LOT HAVE CHANGED IN MS THE WHITES SEEM TO THINK THEY ARE STILL ALWAYS RIGHT WELL NO YOU ALL ARE NOT SO GET OVER IT PEOPLE.
