Double Wrecked Jeep…with Cheese

Just before 4:00 pm on Sunday afternoon, Columbus Police Department and Columbus Fire and Rescue responded to an accident at the intersection of 8th St. N. and Main St.

The accident occurred when 32 year old Jason Shepard of 2611 4th Ave N was driving westbound in a 1999 white Jeep Cherokee. Shepard ran a red light and t-boned a black 2002 Nissan Altima driven by 17 year old Deionta Ivory of Amory. The impact of the collision sent the Nissan into the eastbound lane and up a hill by nearly twenty feet. After hitting the Nissan, the Cherokee then slammed into a light pole near the center divider of the road. Ivory had three passengers in the vehicle and two of them, Shaquita Guido and Slvia Ivory, complained of injuries and were transported to BHM-GT. While the injured women were being loaded into the ambulances, Shepard leaned against his totaled vehicle and began eating what appeared to be a rather larger cheeseburger. (Fast food connoisseurs close to the investigation tell The Packet that the burger looks to be a Bacon Cheese Thick Burger from Hardees.)

  1. Setting the record straight

I don’t know where you got your information from but on the police report it states that the driver of the car got the ticket for running the red light. Just because two people in the car left in an ambulance does not mean that the other driver was guilty of running the red light. Also FYI, it was a sandwich from Little Dooey’s!

I LOVE The Columbus Packet. Keep up the good work. Judging from the post above though you may need to do a correction. Just to add though if I had a Little Dooey’s cheeseburger getting cold in the car I’d eat it while I waited too.
