Crime Stoppers tip lead to arrest

On March 17, 2011, a tip received through the Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers led to the arrest of D’Anzor Jackson.  Jackson was featured on WCBI Crime Stoppers in February.  After Jackson was featured as one of Columbus’ Most Wanted, numerous of tips came in through Crime Stoppers.  Although most of the tips received were valid, Jackson was always able to elude Law Enforcement.  However, On March 17, 2011, a tip was again received on the location of Jackson.   The tip was passed on to the US Marshals and them, along with other local law enforcement officials, responded to the Stringer Manor Apartment area.  At the exact time of law enforcement’s arrival, Jackson received a phone call giving him a heads up of officers’ arrival to the area. Jackson took off running but not before marshals laid eyes on the suspect.  Officers gave chase on suspect.  The heads-up phone call gave Jackson a few minutes head start enabling him to hide in the area without officers seeing the exact location. The officers began searching the area and were able to locate Jackson hiding in a shed in that area.        Teamwork between the media, Law Enforcement entities and the citizens of Columbus, Lowndes County, led to the arrests of this fugitive.        D’Anzor Fernon Jackson, 677 Yorkville Road East, Columbus, age 23, CHARGE:  Robbery; Jackson’s bond was set at $5,000 and the court date has been scheduled for April 21, 2011.
