Just before 9:00pm Monday, Officer William Thrasher stopped a green Ford Expedition on 23rd street just past 4th Ave North. The vehicle was driven by Matayo Dajuan Kincaide, age 30, of 1074 Spivey Rd. in Columbus. Officer Thrasher contacted additional D.I.C.E. members after noticing the strong smell of marijuana. D.I.C.E Supervisor Sgt. John Duke and Officer Thrasher placed Kincaide under arrest. Kincaide granted the officers permission to search his vehicle. Officer Thrasher located a small bud of marijuana in the passenger seat as well as a blunt in the ash tray. D.I.C.E. Supervisor Sgt. John Duke and Thrasher placed Kincaide under arrest.
As officers began to search the vehicle, they could plainly see something stuffed where a stereo would normally be in the dash of the Expedition. Inside the compartment, officers found a small Crown Royal bag with over 2 ounces of marijuana, an 8-ball crack cocaine, a digital scale, and a massive wad of dollar bills exceeding $1500. Kincaide’s Expedition was seized, and he was charged with Suspended Driver’s License, Improper Tag, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana. Officer Thrasher remarked afterwards, “This is the most I’ve ever gotten off of a single traffic stop.”
